Green2Green Privacy Notice

Green2Green knows that you care how information about you is used and shared, and we are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy reflects how we collect and use user information. It applies to the Web site Green2Green.org, and also will apply to any new products or services Green2Green develops. We do not sell, share or rent your information to others in any way not mentioned in this privacy notice.

When you use our site and choose to give us information about yourself (such as your email address), we may contact you with information we think may be of interest to you.

Information We Collect

Many of the services on Green2Green are offered without collecting any personally identifiable information from you. A user can view most of our content anonymously. The information we gather falls into two categories:

(1) Personal information: This is personal information you voluntarily supply to us, such as when you provide your email address or zip code for product location comparisons, submit a product for addition to the database, complete a survey or register for an online discussion. In addition, customer service information may be collected if we want to resolve a problem or answer a question you’re submitted.

(2) Automatic Information: When a user visits the Green2Green site, we may collect tracking information such as your browser type, type of operating system, the domain name of your Internet service provider, and pages visited on the site. None of this information identifies you personally; we collect it for aggregate reporting on site activity in order to make Green2Green more useful. For example, we may want to know how long the average user spends on the site or which pages and features get the most attention. Most aggregate information is collected via cookies or other technical methods. We use cookies, Web beacons and other technologies for analysis and personalization services. Green2Green also places ads on other Web sites that may use cookies. Green2Green licenses content from various providers for our products and services. Most such online content is provided directly by Green2Green. In a few cases, however, the company licensing content to Green2Green may host the content on their Web servers, although our subscribers gain access to the content through Green2Green sites. In such cases, the content provider may collect aggregate tracking information such as domain name and IP addresses for those who access the hosted content. Information shared under these circumstances is provided primarily to safeguard the security of the content sites, as well as that of Green2Green. These companies are restricted from using the data they collect in any way other than to protect the security of their content or for certain other limited uses. They may not share or resell any information collected.

How Your Information May Be Used

If you do provide us with personal information, we may use this to customize experience on the site or provide you with personalized emails and direct mail experiences. These emails may include new information about Green2Green services or green building. We do this to provide you with information, services and offers we believe may be of interest to you. You can always opt-out at any time to keep from getting unwanted communications. It may take some time for this request to become effective, but if you continue to receive communications please contact us and we will act as quickly as possible to remedy the situation.

Sharing Your Information

We take very seriously our responsibility to maintain your privacy. We will not sell, rent or trade visitors’ personal information to any third party. If we contract with another company to provide services on our behalf, such as an email distribution service, they may access certain information but are restricted from using it in any way except to provide services to Green2Green. In addition, if a business is sold collected information may be transferred as part of a purchase or sale. In this event, the information would be treated in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
